Wellesley College and Brandeis University, Application Essay Example

Part I

Hillary Rodham Clinton is one major reason among hundred reasons that have made me choose to make an entry application to Wellesley College. Her courage has inspired me. Being a lady who has faced each challenge that she meets courageously; Hillary has become successful today. Having been personally brought up in a society, which discriminates against women, Hillary’s courage, enduring character and resilience has been of inspiration to me. Hillary achieved a lot from Wellesley College. She served as the president of the Wellesley Young Republicans. In early 1968, Hillary was elected Wellesley College Government Association president and she served in this position through early 1969. Hillary was active in keeping Wellesley College from being entangled in the disruptions by students, which is common in other colleges. She became the very first student in the history of Wellesley College to give its commencement speech. Her address received a seven-minute standing ovation.

Ideally, Hillary Rodham Clinton is a figure that is path-breaking in the politics of America, fearless, bold, and resourceful. This is seen from the time when Hillary was a member of the Senate for two successive terms, and she stood for what she believed in during the making of laws and amendments. In the year 2008, Hillary contested for American presidency coming in second behind Obama, who had acquired enough delegates to help him become the presumptive candidate. Speaking to her supporters on June 7^th, Hillary put her campaign to an end and supported Obama. She gave a declaration that the only way of continuing with the fight of accomplishing the aims for which the Democrats stood for was by taking their passion, their energy, their strength, and all that can be done to help in the election of Barrack Obama. In 2009, she was first nominated and later confirmed to be the Secretary of State. Her feeling was that her new position was a representation of a challenging, yet exciting adventure. Some of her fellow Wellesley College students thought that she could one day be the first female president of America. I believe that Hillary almost did that.

Part II

I would wish to attend Brandeis University because it is one of the best schools and top ranking schools all over the country. Louis D. Brandeis the University’s founder and I are in love with this man who is of perfect moral character, intellectual ability, leadership, social conscience and integrity. I want to study in Brandeis knowing that the principles of Brandeis reign even today and this will help me put this lifestyle into practice by living it. I want to be a member of the community of people who are just, and make an improvement of my social life because I have been told that campus’ social life is engaging, hearty and warm.

After making visits to other schools and after talking to Brandeis students with the help of my brother, I discovered that almost all the students were happy with the members of the faculty. The professors have experience in both academics, as well as fieldwork. This is compared to other University lecturers. Brandeis Lecturers do all they are able to do to ensure that the education given to students is of quality and better than that of other universities. This is made possible by lecturers teaching a few students at a time, in order for them to devote more time to every individual.

I like mathematics and computer science and I perform well in sciences, but my passion is information technology. I trust that I am able uplift the voiceless and get to several individuals by utilizing professionalism to match the feelings of my heart. In case I am given the opportunity of joining Brandeis University, I have plans of performing well and being very active not only in academics, but in the social context too.
