I have always found it within myself to help other human beings. This had led me down the road to become a member of society who strongly believes in the idea that if one is able to help another, then one should invariably do so.

I am cognizant of the actuality that I have great potential in being able to change the lives of others. I intend to maximize the amount of lives I can aid by assisting in any and all kinds of matters using my strong assertiveness and acceptance of others. My experience as a social worker has instilled within myself a love for humanity. This has formulated me into the human being I am today, making me strive for excellence in everything that I do. Through this humane acceptance of every individual I encounter, I have also learned to develop a great yearning to study medicine in order to care for patients day and night.

I have been ridiculed for having “unrealistic” goals numerous times. As time has passed, however, I have learned to embrace the way other people underestimate me and have turned their attitudes into determination. I have been raised to always succeed in whatever endeavor I take. If failure is the resultant, then I have been taught to pick myself up and try again. My long-term goals are a road not taken by many, but the only way I will be able to accomplish my long-term goals is by finalizing my short-term goals.

The cards that have been dealt give me no greater motive to place my time and energy into the pursuit of my number one long-term goal, which is to pursue a nursing degree. As I grow older and more experienced, confidence in my goals does as well. My contribution to society will be saving other people’s lives. I am aware that I will be dealing first-hand with others facing an incredibly hard journey; it is my goal to commit myself to exhausting every method of easing the same pain my family has suffered. I want to pursue such a career so that other families do not have to experience what I experienced: suffering the loss of someone. It is inevitable loved ones will be taken from us throughout our lives, but I will make it my mission to reduce the amount of suffering that is bestowed on others.

In accomplishing my long-term goal as a nursing case manager, I hope to make progress towards improving the lives of others when they are experiencing their most trying times. There would be a variety of obstacles to overcome, of course, but I am positive that with the right attitude, it can be done. Something has to be done. I am willing to speak up and instigate a change. When I was young, my father taught me to believe in myself and that no goal was unattainable. Because of him, I know that I can set a whole different standard of living in my international community. However, I will make my goals a reality through my hard work and collaboration with others in order to create a better tomorrow.

I have come to believe that the patient is the most important thing within the medical field because of the manner in which he or she must be cared for and loved. With this newly-found passion for pursuing a career in nursing care management has led me down the road of believing that I can truly make an impact on the world.
