I learned at a tender age to visualize my dreams and plan my future. My parents always emphasized the importance of succeeding all-round in life. While in high school, I started as a nursing aid, and I thought, if I could enjoy the basic job in the organization, then this was the profession for me. Since then, I began visualizing my educational and professional future. I am a firm believer that attending an immaculate and diverse university composed of intellectual tutors and students from all over the world paves the way to great opportunities and openness in the future. An opportunity to major in nursing at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing would introduce me to professional nursing and direct my professional nursing role in the future.

Not only does NYU offer a solid academic foundation, but it also provides excellent research and innovative medical technologies and treatment for nursing and medical students at the Meyers College of Nursing. Medical innovations are vital as they help better manage and prevent some of the world’s most chronic diseases. Nursing is an ever-changing study path, with the development of new treatments being introduced daily, hence the importance of choosing a school that will guarantee the importance of medical technology and research. Meyers College of Nursing is a nationally-ranked nursing program with significant research, clinical practice, and theory development initiatives. The 15-month accelerated program fits my professional goals of improving health conditions, promoting affordable and good health, and researching preventable diseases using new technology. Meyers College of Nursing offers students programs such as the Community Service Plan, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and Clinical and Community Nursing Rotations, to mention a few that will allow me to make a difference in the health department. A school plays a significant role in shaping the professional development of a student. I am looking forward to taking the next step toward my future of becoming a certified nurse. I want to help my patients through the best medical technologies, and NYU is the perfect choice for me to accomplish those goals.

Working as a nursing aid part-time in high school taught me about persistence, patience, and vulnerability. While caring for vulnerable patients, I have developed the critical skills needed in the medical field. Due to the nature of my patient’s neurological conditions at the time, I found myself in situations that required patience and empathy. My experience with patients at that time solidified my decision to become a nurse. I am aware of more core competencies I must hold to serve their patients best ethically and professionally. As a future graduate, my dream is to work at a Hospital and making a difference. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, a Meyers College of Nursing program, helps people reduce their breast cancer risk.  It unites communities and raises money to help the American Cancer Society fund succeed in breast cancer research and provide free support and information. If accepted into this program, I would like to join such programs that make a difference in people’s lives. My cousin, a nurse, tells me how satisfying being a nurse is. Making a difference in someone’s life is rewarding even after having a hard day of work. Being knowledgeable in this field is vital if one wants to make a difference in people’s lives. Nursing is an ever-growing field, and I plan on not stopping at graduate. My cousin’s experience has helped me perceive what is needed to be successful in a reputable and innovative nursing program.

I cannot imagine a university that would better nurture my development as both a scholar and an individual more than NYU. Nursing is more than helping people. This occupation opens doors to incredible opportunities, growth, and career paths. It requires extreme responsibility and dedication, and with diversified and intellectual peers, the journey becomes easier. New York University is a world-renowned school, and based on the US News, it ranks among the top 10 Nursing schools in the country. It would be a privilege to be part of a program that has been changing the Nursing field for the better since 1932. Innovation brings an energetic and insightful perspective to the future of the nation’s nursing and care workforce.

In essence, the NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing program will help me to engage with, contribute to, and learn from the global scientific community. I have a strong work ethic, motivation, and am service-oriented, and will be an asset to this program. I am also of great diligence and reliability. Therefore, I believe attending the Rory Meyers Nursing Program would significantly impact my path towards pursuing my career, the student community at NYU, and my service towards a society which will be a great asset to this program. The program will also elevate my passion to a skill set that I can use more effectively to help others.
