American University in Dubai, Admission Essay Example

I am writing to you in the hopes that you will consider my candidacy for admission to the American University in Dubai to obtain a Master’s degree in Marketing. In reviewing my case, you will no doubt see that I have wavered in my ability to finish the program; nonetheless, I am determined to achieve this goal. I have been privileged to obtain a BBA in Management through your institution, and I have continued my educational pursuits in the following years. These have included earning a Professional Diploma of Human Resources at the Australian Human Resources Institute, and completing my CIPD at Oakwood International, Ltd. In the hopes that I may be accepted, I plan to use all that I gain from this Master’s program at the American University in Dubai to make a difference in my life, in policy matters, and in the lives of those around me. In reviewing the following qualifications, I request that you grant me further consideration for, at the least, conditional admission.

Within the last eight years, I have had the opportunity to hold the role of a Human Resources Specialist with the Government of Dubai, as well as that of Senior Chief Executive- Recruitment and Planning, as well as Policies and Systems Administrator. These positions have only increased my interest in forwarding my education. Along with my employment with the Government of Dubai, I have also held the position of Human Resources Coordinator for Emirates Marketing and Promotions, also in Dubai. The experience that I have gained over the last eight years, and the educational goals I have achieved, should exemplify my commitment to my goals.

Regarding satisfied educational goals, I have been fortunate to have achieved certification through the Essa Saleh Al Gurg Group, Dubai, in their OJT program in the Department of Human Resources. I have also completed an OJT program in Planning and Development from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, certified through the Tanmia HRCP Program with the Human Resources Certified Professional (HRCP) Certification, and a certificate for Managing Stress in a Changing Environment – Connected HR. My most recent certification has been in Internal Auditing through Think Plus Training and Consulting.

Without question, I know that I am capable of succeeding at the American University with a Master’s degree in Marketing. Not only am I capable, but I am determined. If I were granted the opportunity to continue my studies at your institution, even in a conditional capacity at the outset, I believe I would excel. This, in turn, would allow me to continue pursuing the work I love and making a difference in policy at critical levels. Thank you for your time and consideration.
