Admission Essay

I am writing this letter to appeal for my reinstatement to the university this coming semester. Currently I am on an academic suspension and therefore clearly understand that, my being in the university is henceforth illegal. My suspension was given last year as a result of my failure to gunner at least a GPA of 2.0 as required by the community college academic council.

My reason for failing, I believe was as a result of increasing my completion rate from 57% to 67% which posed a heavy task in my studies. Moreover, I have children and family to take care of, and also work on part time to finance my education. Coping with my new born baby in particular, has presented a work overload for me contributing to my failure.

I clearly understand where I went wrong since it is the only semester I have ever had a lower GPA, as you can find out in this passed spring semester’s transcripts I have attached. Through hard work, and creating a balance between my family and school, I have been able to bring my GPA up from 1.5-2.08. This has been through taking some classes back in the fall of 2011 and again in this spring2012 and also signing up for classes in the fall 2012 on part-time basis. To show my seriousness, I have signed up for summer class in the summer that starts on July 9th.

I clearly understand that, the judgment concerning my suspension solely rests on the hands of the academic council of my community college that can either consider my appeal or reject it. I therefore put my prayers forth for my appeal to be accepted and promise to work even harder to avoid future suspension.
