Cost of Coverage Under Affordable Care Act, Article Review Example

The article expresses concern that in 2015 people living in America will have to pay more for health insurance under the affordable care act established by the Obama administration. Already marked increased were observed for 2014 when compared to 2013, according to the author (Pear, Abelson & Armendariz, 2014). In providing my opinion regarding whether I agree or disagree with the information first, validation of the source would influence the extent to which I agree or disagree. While the author seems to be a journalists the integrity of many journalists have been challenged recently. More so, the information has no supporting source and sounds authentic, but the author might have a personal contention with the Obama Affordable Care Act polices and just tendered the information as part of a personal vendetta.

Significantly, the author made a profound statement declaring that clients will suffer if they do not switch plans. Also, it is likely that the increase would range from 20% upwards. The tone of the article suggests an imposition to comply with discrepancies of the affordable care act whereby people will lose the quality of coverage they had previously. The affordable care act is expected to improve the quality of coverage and insurers have specific guideline to follow when engaging customers (US Department of Health and Human Services, 2015).

Formerly, insurers exploited clients denying coverage if a precondition was existent. Now under the act they must ensure everyone regardless. Therefore, when this article suggests changes in 2015 this is inconsistent with the provisions of the act and can be considered merely propaganda to make the insured lose confidence in the act delivering services that were promised (US Department of Health and Human Services, 2015).
