Article Writing

Cases of anxiety along with depression are rampart in the society. The shocking revelation is that, most of the cases are undertreated because of technical issues. The use of internet delivered tele-therapy whereby psychologists deliver therapy services through web and mobile app has been associated with a high degree of efficacy in addressing these issues (Andersson & Cuijpers, 2009). This technology facilitates overcoming of existing barriers of time and distance that hamper efficient access to the services of mental health care. As Andersson & Cuijpers, (2009) suggests, “The expanding role of technology in the provision of psychological services and the continuous development of new technologies that may be useful in the practice of psychology present unique opportunities, considerations and challenges to practice” (Andersson & Cuijpers, 2009).

The application of psychologist therapy through web and mobile app aids patients in being able to review the treatment materials for their cognitive behavioral conditions with the use of internet technology. Additionally, providers of psychologist therapy through web and mobile app give the much needed directions as well as support through the frequent emails and phone calls. The frequency of service delivery is greatly enhanced due to the potential ease of overcoming time and distance barriers that traditionally hamper service delivery. Psychologist therapy through web and mobile app has theoretically been associated with some advantages but amazingly, its practical application has been a contentious issue in most regions.

Tele-Therapist has been identified as an effective approach of technology assisted psychologist therapy that uses the web and mobile app in the following scenarios. Some people have preference for high level of confidentiality and privacy on their health life (Baker  & Bufka, 2011).  Other people are unable to access the services of therapy because they reside in isolated regions or are homebound. Some others opt for convenience in terms of receiving therapy services at their offices and homes. Other people want to be assured that the experts in therapy who are assigned to handle their cases have extremely high qualifications in terms of skills, credentials, training and compassion in psychotherapy science. Additionally, other people have added complications such as depression, grief and loss, addiction to drugs and alcohol, lack of self-esteem, sexual issues, relationship problems, stress, anxiety, agoraphobia, different forms of abuse, recovery from a condition of trauma, mental illness, problems associated with life transition and work difficulties. Another category involves people whose preferences are affordable therapy (Baker  & Bufka, 2011). Most people have been equipped with toll free telephone lines in their offices and they therefore do not require incurring extra cost when psychologists deliver therapy services using phone calls others enjoy free internet in their offices and thus they find the comfort and cost effectiveness of accessing psychologists delivered therapy services through the web (Andersson & Cuijpers, 2009).

Benefits of tele therapy

It is conventionally accepted that, Tele-Therapist charge lower fees for their services as compared to other experts offering the same service traditionally. The average earning for an traditional psychologist was estimated at $69, 280, (Baker  & Bufka, 2011), annually in 2012 while Tele-Therapist charged far much less.

Additional costs are eliminated because transportation concerns are equally eliminated. Some families hardly access reliable means of public transportation thus complicating the ability to abide to appointments. The use of Tele-Therapist has been resourceful in elimination of such concerns. Available statistics indicate that, the growth of Tele-Therapist is projected at 12% from 2012 to 2022 therapy (Baker  & Bufka, 2011).

Teletherapy also plays a crucial role in empowering some parents as well as teen and adult customers to fully control the progress of their condition. Tele-Therapist provide their clients with a comprehensive lesson plans ahead of the planned sessions so that they are adequately prepared. This makes them to gain an awareness of where they stand and the most appropriate course of action. The clients are also empowered to determine the best approach of achieving intended goals.
