Masters of Social Work Degree Program, Personal Statement Example

I am writing this statement to express my interest in the masters of social work degree program at Western Michigan University. I acquired a 3.00 grade point average in my graduate degree, and I have since been involved in supervisory and public assistance positions. My degree course has a lot of concentration on graduate social work, education risk analysis and human resource skills. Being in the social work for over the past 10 years has made it possible for me to get hands on experience, learn and perform various tasks competently. To begin with, as a young and flexible graduate, I am able to assess the admissibility of client decisions and decide the essential plan of actions. Additionally, I am capable of corresponding with all the involved parties to ensure quality services are delivered. What’s more, the knowledge and experiences I have achieved in the past years have enabled me to solve social problems and achieve positive outcomes and provide resources for clothing, food, bus transportation, medical appointments and housing. The time I have spent in the field has honed my communication proficiency, and I am able of communicating clearly between the management and clients. I am keen to detail and am able to document highly accurate, detailed assistance forms and reports. Lastly, I am well organized with a focus on time management.

It is through patience, persistence, hard work and dedication that I have gone to the level that I have managed to reach. I believe that these qualities will make me an even better candidate for the master’s degree program at this established university. I will be in a position to attain a high level of perceptive and understanding since I will be matching the practical experience I have achieved with the theory that I will learn in the program.
