MBA in International Business, Admission Essay Example

Background

I have a general business background with a strong interest in large Corporate business structures. My goal is to ultimately obtain an Executive Management position in one of these large organizations. I believe that education is an important milestone in helping towards securing a career position in a large Corporate business.  I am particularly interested in the International MBA program because in ideal terms I would like to find a position in a multi-national company that will provide me the opportunity to travel and experience different cultures and management / leadership styles.

In the selection of a career, I looked at a number of different options and finally settled on developing a career in business.  Although I have not had a great deal of exposure to this field, I want to gain a solid academic footing as the foundation to build up a career in business management.  I believe the MBA program will provide this foundation and help me to achieve a suitable graduate entry position in a large multi-national business

Philosophy

It is my belief that globalization in the business world will help to define the future manager in international business.  The manager will have to be a multi-faceted individual that can converse in a number of languages, including English. In addition, will need a strong understanding of cultures and people in different countries and be adept at dealing with local decision making having the ability to often deal with a number of conflicting needs.  As such, it is important to learn the different leadership styles, particularly that of the transformational leader, in order to apply these in a practical setting.

I selected your business school owing to the first class reputation it has obtained in the field of International Business Administration. I was particularly impressed with the library and research facilities, together with the high degree of sophistication in Information Technology. As such I believe the school reflects my needs of an educational  background for the 21^st Century Manager. The school also has an excellent tutorial staff with leading academics in the field of Business Administration.

My strong ambition to succeed is matched with my enthusiasm to do well in terms of accomplishment on this program. I have confidence that I possess the dedication and personal commitment towards hard work and achieving my goals. The MBA program will help me to acquire professional and cutting-edge analytical skills, sound business knowledge and development of problem solving and decision making skills.  This will be a solid foundation that I can build upon in the development of practical skill training once I have completed the MBA program.
