Mission Command, Article Review Example

How should the military force conduct themselves especially when facing particular operations? The Mission Command’s White Paper article provides particular guidelines that highlight the different aspects of competency that the members of the military force need to contend with especially during mission schedules and appointments. Relatively, the operation of the military force is grounded upon three particular matters namely the commander’s intent, the mission type order and the decentralized execution of commands (3). To intensify the progressive way by which the military force handles its duties accordingly, three specific points have been given attention in the article presented.

The first point is the distinction of the Joint Force 2020 security development. This approach of operation entails the need of the operation go further faster. The changes in the process of defining a particular military mission would be more grounded and more distinctively affective in handling point-by-point issues intended to be resolved. It hopes to create a unified process of operation among military bases that are located on the different parts of the world. Doing so would help the overall population of the military force to face issues of international security especially relating to matters of terrorist warnings. Considerably, such an approach is expected to strengthen the stance of the military force against malicious attacks to the people’s safety.

The second point to note is that of the need of the individuals [officers involved in the program] to actually understand the situation. This point entails the need for the officers to develop better understanding of their situation thus gaining better control of command. Such control shall provide a better foundation for the operations that the force takes into account. It shall also help shape the commander’s motive and how such motive affects the men. Through this, it is expected that commanding and following such directions would provide a better value of reliability to the military operations. This way, the people’s security would be best considered accordingly.

The third point to give attention to is that of the need of the mission command to be institutionalized within all the aspects of development and operation that he military considers to be necessary. From the point of being educated, the men in the military force need to be taught about the values of mission command. This way, they would be able to develop a professional and individual culture that is in line with the goals of the force. With it comes the competence on their work. And with such competence comes the confidence to provide what they are expected to give.

From the points presented herein, it is expected that the future of the military force mission command would actually provide a stronger foundation for the military aide as they make sure that the society is kept in place and that the safety of everyone else is secured accordingly.
