Oriental Medical Health Profession, Admission Essay Example

My interest in the Oriental medical/holistic health profession has been present since I can remember.  Since I can remember I have enjoyed playing nurse to those around me, such as my brothers and cousins, when they were sick or injured.  At a young age Oriental medicine and health in general has sparked my interest in this dynamic field.

In terms of my character, I am a people-person.  By identifying with the person I feel that I will be prospectively able to approach the illness in a dynamic manner.  From the identification of the root cause of the illness in order to adjust, treat, change, and cure the illness accordingly, I feel that I can use talents learned from my prospective studies.  In my understanding of this concept and in regards to my character, I feel that this must be present in order to become a holistic healer.

From my experiences within these concepts of Oriental medicine and health I feel that I present myself as a strong prospect for studying at Pacific College.  In the past I have used acupuncture, chiropractic methods, and herbal tinctures for conditions and overall wellness.  I am an avid yogi, meditate daily, study the Dhammapada, and have experience with other Eastern exercises and philosophies.

In my experience I trust the values I have learned will be an asset to continued learning.  Prospectively I will be able to apply concepts I have learned to balance the qi, or the “life force,” and other functions by studying the mind, body, and spirit in pursuit of a more fulfilling life.  It is in these standards that I prospectively look towards further studies.

Personally I hope to develop as a healer in this dynamic and rewarding process.  I hope to nourish my soul with the interconnectedness of family, friends, nature, and the arts.  In this sharing I hope to relate the unconditional love back into this world.

In my potential studies, I find myself being called to this rewarding and blessed pursuit.  I want to be able to help others respond to the call of the inner life.  Inner life is not something that visibly or held, but rather found in multifaceted Energy.  We join what we are on earth with the inner life and soul of our Being.  The result is found in our Spirit, which is the Energy of our inner lives and soul.  In this pursuit, I find the possibility of becoming involved in this good personally challenging and internally rewarding.

As a healer, I want to be able to direct that Energy to thrive for the betterment of this world. Drawing from personal experiences, Energy must be taken into account towards that of the soul.  The Energy found present in another must be addressed, and not that of religion or other unrelated practices.  As a potential healer I will be able to identify to the soul, in order to understand the rooting dynamics, to help them to see themselves in that of the world.  This will require sensitivity in my possible endeavors as a healer.

From my experiences, inner character, motivations, and potential assertion as an Oriental medical/holistic healer, I find prospective studies engaging.  It is in these foundations that I hope to better myself and those around me as a valued healer.  I would like to thank you for your time and consideration of myself as a potentially valued member of Pacific College.
