Purpose: MBA, Personal Statement Example

Life is about making rational decisions that impact positively to us as well as to other persons. I have been evaluating my experiences, strengths, weaknesses and passion in an effort to decide the course that will assure me of success and satisfaction in life.  I feel that I will settle for nothing less than an MBA. Both my professor and friends would describe me as an intelligent, active, enjoyable and diverse person. One of my unique personalities is the range of experiences that I have. I am a man with an interest in management and technical aptitude. I am passionate about travelling and identifying myself with diverse cultures of the world. I have no doubt that these elements will supplement my MBA work.

My bachelors degree in commerce (accounting option), have provided me with strong base to my analytical expertise since accounting involves a lot of intricate, complex and long calculations plus the use of fundamental math skills. I have been working as a part-time audit assistant with KPMG over the past three years. I am also a member and a co-founder with Excel Investment Club (EIC). In addition to what I have learned in school and at college, these experiences have shaped my personality to date.

One of my goals is becoming a business policy consultant. By getting an MBA, this will make an ideal sense since it will supplement my knowledge in business accounting background which I require to become a top business consultant. I have been a keen observer on the disparity between the poor and the rich, and the extreme suffering experienced by the disadvantaged groups. I feel that Business community can play a key role in minimizing this gap and I intend to provide them with the suitable policies to guide them through the process. By establishing a consultancy, I will have satisfied my humanistic driven instincts to alleviate poverty in the society. The Masters degree will also form a base for me to pursue a PhD in business administration in future. With my past experience, diversity of my interests and activities, plus the strong inspiration to craft a brilliant future, I have no doubt that I can rationalize my resolve to pursue an MBA degree.
