I completed my undergraduate degree (BBA) from Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with a 3.25 GPA (evaluated by WES, New York). While pursuing my academic career, I also worked as a sales associate for Arabian Oud Company for about a year and completed my summer internship at Saudi Aramco. These two work experiences, though radically different, changed my perspectives on cross-cultural issues and international business.

At Arabian Oud, I realized that globalization is not only leading to economic interdependence but also cultural fusions between countries. In the Middle East, Oud has been used for various purposes for centuries but now the Western demand for Oud has been growing, especially by the fragrance companies. The fascination with Oud has helped spark Western interest in other aspects of Arab cultures as well. Similarly, I had the opportunity to interact with individuals from several countries at Saudi Aramco. The conversations helped expand my thinking horizon and made me more appreciative of the cultural diversity. My interaction with fellow co-workers also improved my analytical and problem-solving skills because they introduced me to new ideas and point-of-views. By the end of the internship at Saudi Aramco, I had made up my mind to pursue MBA in the U.S.

As I did my research on MBA schools in the U.S., I looked for certain criteria and McColl School of Business turned out to be the best fit to my objectives and goals. I wanted to pursue an MBA at a business school that doesn’t only have world-class faculty and academic sources but also provides ample opportunities for learning and leadership outside the class. Another thing that impressed me about McColl is its diverse student body and strong ties with the business community.

Being someone who has work experience at a leading energy company in the world and has a strong knowledge of Eastern and Western cultures, I will bring unique perspectives into the program. I look forward to maximize my learning experience at McColl School of Business and am confident I will be a strong ambassador of the school in the real world after completing my MBA.
