Radiology, Admissions Essay Example

It is my deepest interest to receive admission to the Bellevue Hospital Center School of Radiologic Technology.  I truly enjoy the ability to help other people, which is why I have always wanted to have a career in the health care industry.  No other industry even compares to the potential benefits that health care providers can offer to individuals that live in the local community and within the surrounding areas.  Specifically, it is my goal to begin working as an X-Ray technician to utilize the previous education I have gained.  Radiology has the ability to provide excellent insights into the treatment and diagnosis of patients.

Early in my career, I want to work as an X-Ray technician in order to learn the intricacies of working with the technology and specific radiation manipulation to achieve the desired results of X-Ray imaging.  However, my ultimate goal is to eventually earn a position as a Radiologist.  Radiologists are able to express the readings of the X-Rays directly with the patients, while X-Ray technicians do not typically relay any information to the patients.  This type of patient interaction is what I truly want in my career, which is why I have a deep desire to become a Radiologist in the future.

The Bellevue Hospital Center School of Radiologic Technology has an impressive reputation as a top radiologic technology education institution.  To achieve my career goals, it is crucial that I receive the best education that is available.  I am also impressed by the close interaction that students have with their teachers in learning the hands-on technology techniques as well as the philosophies behind working in the industry as a radiology professional.  The Bellevue School will undoubtedly provide me with the educational resources necessary to excel in the field and to have the stellar career that I deeply desire.  I know that to become enrolled in  such a prestigious institution would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as a future radiology professional.
