Risk Management, Article Review Example

The purpose of the article is to connect the relationship between the assessment and management of floods to avoid future disasters. It provides the requirements of risk management and the justifications to the evasion of these floods by employing risk management. The goal of the study aims at setting forth recommendations of employing risk assessment.

The method used in conducting the research based on the use of previous publications to reach a conclusion. The approach employed in the research puts forth materials already available to justify and assess the research problem. The use of projections and data in the completion of the research also assists to arrive at a more concise finding (Stuart et al, 2012, p.233). The use of both primary and secondary sources in the completion of the research is evident in the methodology.

The results obtained in the study showed that the interventions in hazards capes do not rely on scientific analysis but on the management activities used. The research shows that management be used to develop interventions that are economically while at the same instance creating value to society. The research further provides that, with the use of proper procedures, the intervention of future floods is possible trough predictions.

It is worth noting that the research results and outcome are not flawless as there exist other environmental factors, which can change the prediction pattern, and therefore the results are not conclusive. The predictions rely on probability, and possible outcomes to make predictions and this cannot guarantee accuracy. The research recognizes that the scientific methods and management efforts assist in flood risk management. For outcomes that are more beneficial, the two must balance.
