1. Discuss the institutional review board approval and informed consent obtained. Are HIPAA Privacy regulations followed?

Institutional Review Board approval suggests that before anyone conducts a research prior permission must be sought from the people to be sampled, institution which samples needed to be retrieved or used in the study. Also, the intentions of researchers must be clear to avoid ambiguity or compromise the privacy of subjects.

Discuss the setting and whether it was appropriate for the conduct of the study

The authors have described the design as being of multicenter Correlational model since it involved six participating countries. The researchers adapted this design since they felt that it would be most suitable for a study of that nature. Correlational designs are used when researchers have to make comparisons based on samples taken from large unique portions of the population. As such, it can be considered the best for the type of study and the setting was superb.

When considering the setting for sampling it would appear that during implementation of the instrumentation process researchers utilized the Caring Behavior Inventory of 24 items and Patient satisfaction Scale; it could be considered a unique intervention for this setting.
