The Importance of History, Speech Example

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen. Today we are discussing the importance of learning history. The important of learning history can protect your current culture from making catastrophic decisions that negative impact society. In contrast, the important of history is look at the positive impacts of civilizations before us. It has been said that its imperative that every civilization must study the past or if they do not they are doomed to repeat it. This was a saying by George Santayna who wrote “Those that cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it” (Internet of Encyclopedia of Philosphy,2015). George Santayna was one the most influential American philosophy that spent his life researching historical perspectives.

The value of learning history allows civilizations to cross reference social decisions to learn from their decision making based on societies good or bad outcomes.  There is value in studying the mistakes of past civilization to the society of today does not make or repeat the same mistakes. The process of learning about the past helps people understand how they can make contributions for the future of their civilizations growth. The great experiences learned from the best history teachers of all time is those that came before and what they accomplished that applies today.

The importance of learning and studying history is the opportunity to learn about our origins and humble beginnings. The reflection of the past represents who we are today and how the people of the past help develop our attitudes, beliefs, character and way of life today.  It is important for everyone to study and learn our history to learn from valuable lessons from past human behavior that is critical to our intellectual growth as a people. The learning of history provides a glimpse of the past to see how the world developed and grew from previous civilianization. The people that learn history including other cultures will be able to live a quality lives wile understanding lifestyles and becoming diverse. It is important to learn from history to enhance our world with healthier lifestyles for all mankind. The learning about hour history keeps us aware of how our ancestors lived and survived and how we can learn from their past behaviors to help future generations.
