Republican Stereotype, Speech Example

Speech

My fellow Americans, thank you for gathering here today and showing such fervent patriotism for America. As Americans, we all appreciate the four freedoms that President Franklin Roosevelt spoke about during his tenure as president, and their enduring legacy must never be tarnished or undermined by any politician or citizen. Within the current political climate, there are a litany of challenges that continue to plague the nation from progressing forward. Today I will address four of the most pressing challenges that have germinated in communities across the nation. Immigration, healthcare, gun control, and an endemically flawed criminal justice system.

Immigration reforms and laws must be put into place in order to effectively address the national security of our great nation. The government needs to take a more hard-line stance to tighten up existing laws in order to ensure that immigrants who are in America illegally no procure the same benefits that Americans who are legally here do. Indeed, America is a nation of immigrants, but the system has been undermined by illegals who continue to cross the porous national borders.  We welcome immigrants who enter the country via legal avenues, as there has been a system in place for over 200 years that should not be ignored. Resources should be devoted to keeping out immigrants who enter this great nation illegally in addition to keeping a meticulous record of who enters and exits. All members of the Republican Party acknowledge that foreign immigrants who have traveled to the United States have enriched the nation, but they must enter and exit through legal means, which is of paramount importance to the safety of U.S. citizens.

As a result of the slew of mass shootings that have resulted in a handful of unnecessary deaths, there has been an ongoing dialogue about tightening up restrictive gun control laws. However, I stand with other members of the Republican Party and uphold the right of all Americans per the second amendment to keep and bear arms. This fundamental right antedates the U.S. Constitution that was drafted over two centuries ago. I support, acknowledge, and defend the divinely ordained right of law-abiding American citizens of self-defense. Such a fundamental right must be recognized by the decisions rendered by the Supreme Court in various landmark decisions such as McDonald v. Chicago which affirmed this very right. It is the duty of citizens to use and store any firearms with caution in addition to procuring and storing the ammunition needed to operate the guns. The federal government does not have the right to take away this right, as doing so would create a slippery slope in which other rights protected by the Constitution to be violated.

Healthcare is another issue that must be addressed in the upcoming elections, as Obamacare is a direct attack on the U.S. Constitution. Its impact on the health of Americans has been outright disastrous since the inception of Obamacare. It represents an attempt by President Obama to expand the reach of the federal government over one sixth of the American economy. Requiring citizens to purchase healthcare by imposing a tax for those who do not directly attacks the freedom of choice Americans. I concur with the four of the dissenting judges on the U.S Supreme Court who declared that the Affordable Care Act was wholly invalid and should be struck down. It merely represents a brand of antiquated liberalism that levies on American citizens a European-esque bureaucracy aimed at government all facets of citizens’ lives. It is clear to me that the court of public opinion has already struck down such a draconian approach to healthcare in America.

Finally, recent events have underscored how flawed the criminal justice system is at the micro and macro levels. Democrats and liberals simply do not understand that criminals who are put in jail can never harm the public again. The construction of more prisons are necessary in order to alleviate a currently overburdened prison system. Gang crimes must also be adjudicated by implementing mandatory prison sentences in addition to rape, robbery, repeat offenders for crimes related to illicit drug consumption and/or selling, and violent offenses wages against children. The death penalty should be legalized by a federal amendment, as victims of violent crimes must be protected to the greatest extend. Existing laws thus must be tightened and enforced in order to deter crimes in the future.

Republicans use very simplistic language and short sentences so that all Americans can clearly understand what they are saying. Some experts contend that front-runner of the Republican Party Donald Trump uses language that can be understood by a typical fourth grader. In addition, hyperbolic language is utilized in order to stress the points they are making, supported by repetition. Laced speech language is subtle irony in order to engage the audience and maintain their attention.
