An Incident in My Life Which Placed You in Conflict, Admission Essay Example

All through my education life I have been remained successful concerning to my outstanding performance in scholastic and educational exams and activities that are considered as extracurricular. And currently, I have been planning to continue my studies in Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) after the graduation.

At one day, I unexpectedly recognized that I had struggled to prove myself as ideal and complete only in eyes of others. Surrounding with innumerable praise, I had been pursuing the expectation of social type in my whole life. Intensely, I started to inquire myself whether to prolong and pursue the road that are well-designed. After deep evaluation, the thought to move to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) appeared. Not intending merely to imitate other people, I started to rebel the predictable pattern of my life.

When it came to the knowledge of my friends that I have been applying for the transfer to other institute they all immediately said that, Are you crazy?  They advised me that I was taking risk concerning to my education in University of Tsinghua because there was a threat that I might be unsuccessful in both institutions with the tests burden extremely.

When I tried to take suggestion from my professors mostly they all said that “young man does not try to be impatient. It is possible that you might have better opportunity in MIT after completing the graduation here, they said. Further they added that fundamental education in China is no doubt best in the whole world and your haste may spoil your career. By dealing with majority of opposing nature, I still restricted to my early decision since I found their assumptions not suitable for me.

My main objective is to work for people, and therefore establish a good society. Under the globalization trend, I need to broaden my viewpoint to develop my system of value to be open and critical. And it is possible that number of people may create their personal standard throughout college and as a result will have greater complications to settle into a new culture. Therefore the life at MIT may be important to me to develop into harmony over the cultural gap in the future.

I realized that myself restricted by the Chinese traditional education system that maintains very short space for studying independently. While my professor who is Native American expressed, here the counselors still gently fed the facts to the toddlers in the cradles.

Scared by the apparently insuperable transfer process, number of new people said that after the graduation opportunities may be better. The professors as usual were discussing concerning the safe track that most people who are considered pioneered also traveled by.

Out of sense, the majority of us are frightened from the change into current position and we expect to obtain the safety sense by pursuing others without thinking independently. Standing in continuous support, I was supposed to consider the remarks of others before taking action. Throughout the conflict, I experienced but became more committed concerning to the aim of life. I had a great understanding concerning to the quote of Alghieri Dante “Pursue your personal route, and don’t consider the arguments of people.”

Reality rejects, unlike math, specific formulae to be successful. And the thing that needs to do is to pursue the decision that is inner after thoughtful reasoning. Life is not the name of success only, but the flavor of various chocolate types. Defeat would not defeat me but the retraction from fear will force me to regret.
