Improving Employees through Establishment of Behavioral Health Agency

The role of a behavioral health agency is complex, and unless it does cover all the needs of the company, employees and stakeholders, it will not reach its proposed goal: growing, enabling and supporting employees, as well as the organization.

Hiring Process

During the hiring process, the human resources department would screen potential employees and set up a meeting with a member HR department . The member of the team would complete an evaluation and assign a position to the selected employee based on their expertise, experience and position. The three positions teams within the Mental and Behavioral Health Management team would be based on are: therapeutic, skill building and community resource/contact.

Mental and Behavioral Health Care Employee Evaluation Teams

The role of the team would be to support employees, complete orientation and mental health reviews, assess the needs and capabilities of employees in order to work together and develop a successful mental health collaboration plan.

Initial Treatment Team Meeting

The assignment of the case will be followed by a staff meeting that will cover the initial treatment plan and explain the methods used, potential benefits for customers. This is a collaborative process, based on a consensus about the objectives and interventions.

Treatment and Intervention Plans

A document detailing the treatment plan, the intervention process, timeliness and methods used will be developed by the team and submitted to the manager for review. The document would also contain information about follow-up meetings, monitoring and potential emergency interventions.

Weekly/Monthly Treatment Meetings

Monthly supervision plans submitted and approved will need to be followed by all members of the Treatment Team. In the beginning of each month, a follow-up monitoring meeting will be set up in order to evaluate the goals, development and effectiveness of the selected intervention plan. The meetings would be conducted through a conference call, during which all the elements of the plan would be discussed in a collaborative manner.

Consumer Assignments

Placement/Selection/Evaluation

The allocation of consumer assignments is based on skills, QA and CD evaluations. Compliance is an integrated part of the assignments, therefore, a full briefing and training needs to be provided covering the legal and policy elements of the work. The avenues of professional orientation, development willbe highlighted.

2 Day Orientation

During this phase of induction, a two day orientation assignment will be completed, consisting of one day spent in the office reviewing policies and one day “shadowing” staff and getting an insight into procedures.

90 Day Probation

This period will cover essential training, on-site learning and will include continuous supervision, monitoring and CD reviews.

Compliance and Mental Health Case Monitoring

Team evaluations and CD reviews will be completed in order to ensure the team member has relevant knowledge to do the job and act according to compliance requirements. Self-evaluation will be discussed with the supervisor, highlighting issues and development areas.

Yearly Evaluations

All members will submit a self-evaluation every year detailing strengths, weaknesses, development areas and goals for the next year. Team members will also be required to review their performance towards the yearly goals set together with the team.

Continued Growth and Professional Development

Regular Monitoring and Plans – Meetings

As a part of employee support, the agency will also offer regular update meetings, training and monitoring conferences, when the plans and performance will be reviewed.

Internal Audits

Internal audits will serve as a spot-check in order to highlight improvement areas within the team and on an individual basis. QA personnel and administrative personnel will submit case files monthly for compliance review.
