Help for Cancer, Speech Example

I would like to talk to take up a few short moments of your time to talk to you about one of the worst things that exists in our world and what you, yes you can do to stop it. Cancer.

Cancer is a terrifying, painful and often deadly disease that more often than not approaches unseen like a thief in the night and it is a blight on our society which must be crushed. But it is especially horrific in children. Young lives blighted and bright futures tragically stolen.

Do you know someone who has suffered from this tragic disease in childhood ?. Have you yourself lost someone to it ?. Maybe you yourself have suffered from it ?. If so then you will know first hand the pain and fear that cancer causes not just to the victims but also to the parents and families who love them. But there is something we can do.

Hospitals, doctors and nurses and scientists the warriors of our NHS, are fighting at the frontline of the war against cancer every single day but they need your help. They desperately need funds to buy specialised equipment, support the ill and provide hospice care and support for the dying, and scientists need funds to research new and better treatments to guide those with cancer towards a brighter  future, until we reach the day when they find a cure and we lose our children to cancer no more.

So please come out and help and help your local hospital by sacrificing just a few short hours of your time per week to fundraise for them. Fundraising can take many forms from holding a collection bucket in the street to holding a bake sale, a special event or a sponsored run or even simply a donation. Every penny you raise will help to support and maybe even save a family caught in the darkness of cancer.

In 2008 alone we lost 7.6 million people to this travesty of a disease, which has over 100 different faces from breast and ovarian cancer to mouth cancer and prostrate cancer. It must be stopped so please come and be a warrior in the fight against cancer. Let’s not lose another 13% of the world’s population this year like in 2008.

Because Ladies and Gentleman Cancer must die.
