Letter for Curriculum Change, Speech Example

I enrolled in the program in 2009 before the change from old curriculum to new curriculum took place. Thus, my decision to join the program was based on the old curriculum as I wanted to make sure I will do well in the program I major in. Somehow, I was moved to the new curriculum without being given a choice and this has disrupted my original plans. The new curriculum has elements which do not fit into my future plans and if given a choice, I would have chosen to remain in the old curriculum.

I am currently enrolled in Water Resource One which I may not be able to complete successfully and if it happens so, I won’t be able to take Water Resource Two next semester. Then the earliest I can take Water Resource One would be next spring and if this happens, not only my graduation will be delayed by a semester but I may also lose my scholarship. Due to my economic background, the scholarship has been quite instrumental in financially supporting my academic endeavors. This scholarship is very important to me and losing it may even prevent me from completing the degree. Thus, I kindly request you to transfer me back to the old curriculum on the basis of which I selected the program.

I would also like to emphasize the fact that my performance in the courses that were also part of the old curriculum has been much better than those which are only part of the new curriculum. This supports my contention that my decision to select the program was based on the old curriculum. Please do not hesitate to let me know should you have any questions. I am sure you will understand my circumstances and move me back to the old curriculum which will not only help me improve my academic performance but also keep my scholarship.
