Childhood Favorite Place, Speech Example

Speech

What was remarkable about my childhood was that I had the chance to experience the many things that this generation has never been given the chance to enjoy. My cousins and I used to go to the rivers and spend much time there with our grandparents during vacations. We enjoyed what nature had to share; we were able to take note of the fact that when it comes to enjoying life, the best things in life are free. What makes this idea rather effective in defining life when I was younger was that I realized what it meant to have nothing and gain everything amidst all these. This specifically shaped by behavior as I grew into maturity.

The rivers made me feel free and close to nature; back then, I did not really think that these experiences would matter to me and my life. I have understood through time that these experiences at my grandparents’ gave me a better perspective about life. The hustles and bustles of the city tend to bring me too much stress, but these memories kept me going on and somehow, the lesson of enjoying life from nothing has proven to me that life is not about possessions; instead, it is all about being contented with what one has without wishing for more.

Life is about attitude; somehow, a person’s response to the different situations he needs to face would identify the way that such experiences would make something out of him. As for me, the river has at my grandparent’s home grounded me on depending on life’s realities thus allowing me to embrace life at a better pace; thus making it easier for me to view life more positively. I have realized at this point that somehow, making a definite form of realization on how I embrace life’s realities would depend on my personal attitude and perception of life as it is. Not everything in life would be positive in form; however, in my willingness to accept what is real and what is acceptably useful in making something good out of what I have learned through my experiences. These are the things that will make it easier for me to accept life’s realities with full positive assumption of possibilities in determining my future.
