Yarra EMS Service, Grant Proposal Example

I would like to apply for a grant of $ 200,000.00 to be used for purchasing surveillance cameras for the city of Yarra which has a population of 80,000. I am requesting these cameras because they will help to reduce the high crime rate in the city. The recent crime rate shows 15,000 crimes for every 100,000 residents. The most crime effected areas of the city appear to be Fitzroy, Collingwood and Richmond.

If funding is awarded we will be placing the cameras in town centres and throughout the worst effected areas . An example of how well placed cameras can help the police to reduce crime is the recent arrest figures for the London riots. The UK Police were able to arrest 2000 criminals whose images had been caught on camera. We are aiming to reduce the rate to around 8,000 crimes for every 100,000 residents.

The money would be used to purchase and install the equipment and also to maintain the cameras and keep them running.

At the end of the 2 year grant period we are expecting to have reduced the crime rate to 8,000 crimes per 100,000 residents. Within a five year period we expect to have reduced this to around 6,000. Please consider this proposal as it will help to ensure the safety of the city.
